CHARLESTON BARCAMP 2009 GROUP PHOTO

@oubipaws and I headed down to Charleston on Saturday, October 24th, 2009 to partake in a BarCamp “unconference” in Charleston. It was an extremely educational geek gathering.
With limited slots available (250 in all) it was a great event for techies and non-techies alike.

@oubipaws and I headed down to Charleston on Saturday, October 24th, 2009 to partake in a BarCamp “unconference” in Charleston. It was an extremely educational geek gathering.
With limited slots available (250 in all) it was a great event for techies and non-techies alike.

The Sessions We Attended:

#1:“iPhone in Your Face” brought to you by @mbgeek was a session about programming for the iPhone and submitting your app to the App Store.
#2:“Amazon Cloud Computing” was lots of information on how to use Amazon for your cloud server needs. In this session I learned that cloud computing is way too complicated for me, but @oubipaws thoroughly enjoyed racking his brain.
#3:“Ruby On Rails using git” brought to you by @JebSchneider was a great session and one of our faves of the day.
#4:“Asp.NET MVC Bing API” brought to you by @kodefuguru was a session about using the bing API, flickr API and programming Asp.Net. Even after learning about the new twist on Asp.NET I still prefer all other programming languages first, and I can safely say that I will always prefer Google’s API.
#5:“Drupal” brought to you by @exposur3 was very interesting to me because I had never had any experience learning about Drupal. After I heard all about it, I still prefer Wordpress as my CMS but I wouldn’t mind playing around with Drupal in the future.
#6: We had every intention of heading to “BaconCamp” (lol) but we were so exhausted that we decided to head home a little early.

All in all we had a fantastic time in Charleston and we are looking forward to next year!!!
